Cytopathology of cutaneous and subcutaneous neoplasms in feline species: a retrospective study

It is estimated that a quarter of all feline neoplasms affect the integumentary system. Cytological examination admirable importance for detection in companion animals, being considered simple and non-invasive method. To date, there are limited information regarding prevalence skin cancer as well use cytopathology diagnostic tool. In this sense, study aimed to characterize cutaneous subcutaneous tumors 192 cats from archives private clinic São Paulo-SP, Brazil, specialized care felines. Data animal (breed definition, sex, age group) tumor characteristics (biological behavior, cytomorphological category neoplasm, cytological suggestion neoplasm) were obtained five-year period.
